Recognize the grandeur of your life.
Have you ever looked at someone’s life and thought, they are one of the lucky ones? Did you ever think someone else is looking at you thinking, you’re one of the lucky ones? How often is it that we admire someone for their successes and triumphs, their seemingly easy life?
What if, you’re one of the lucky ones? Because you are one of the lucky ones. We all are. All we have to do is recognize it. But this isn’t an article about luck. It’s an article about one of our most powerful emotions and tools, gratitude. Rumi says, “if you only say one prayer, let it be thank you.” Gratitude is the ability to recognize the grandeur of your life. And practicing gratitude has some powerful effects.
Gratitude is the preliminary stage for love. So what does that mean exactly? Think about it, before you love someone or something are you not first thankful for them/it?
All of us can relate to being thankful, for one thing or another. So what about being thankful for your life and all it encompasses. Likely, we’ve all experienced gratitudes best friend synchronicity. Maybe you were thinking about something all day and then a friend brought up in conversation the exact thing you were thinking about moments ago. Or maybe, you were thinking about someone and then they call. We’re quick to dust this off as mere coincidence, yet it’s important to look at these occurrences as recognition of alignment. In these moments it’s easier to pause for a moment and take a minute to realize this is a sign or our consciousness’s way of letting us know we are where we should be. As a result, you’ll find yourself thankful and uplifted from whatever synchronicities have occurred. That’s just one way to move towards gratitude.
To be thankful for our lives and feel gratitude for whatever happens to us ( yes even the negative) takes daily practice, that after one week will prove to uplift, inspire and shift your perspective on your life. After all, as mentioned above, you’re one of the lucky ones. You get to be alive, on earth, during this moment in our story as human beings. You get to breathe air, listen to music, share laughter, experience nature, exist. And that alone is worth giving thanks for.
So what about the times when it seems damn near impossible to be grateful for anything? What about when life hands us storm after storm. To that, you’ve heard the adage there’s a silver lining. So here at The Beautiful Project we’ve created an interactive daily list you can click, or print out and check off that’ll help in recognizing the silver lining, and allow you to implement daily gratitude into your life as a practice by realizing and remembering all we have to be grateful for.
